Free tool

Vocal remover. Karaoke and practice tracks, free, in your browser.

How it works

01

Drop in a stereo song

An MP3, WAV, M4A or FLAC of a finished mix, up to ten minutes.

02

The centre cancels

Lead vocals are almost always panned dead centre. Subtracting one channel from the other cancels them, and the bass and kick are put back from below 150 Hz so the track keeps its low end.

03

Download the instrumental

Compare before and after, then save a WAV. Nothing is uploaded; it all runs on your device.

Questions

Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no limit. The processing runs on your computer.
Why can I still hear some vocal?
This is the classic centre-cancellation method. It removes what is identical in both channels, so stereo reverb and delay on the vocal, double-tracked or wide-panned vocals, and backing vocals off-centre stay in. Anything else panned centre — snare, a centred lead synth — is reduced too.
How do I get a clean instrumental or an a cappella?
Use AI stem separation in the SoundGen studio. A neural model splits the song into vocals, drums, bass and other instruments as separate tracks, so you get a clean instrumental and the isolated vocal. A standard separation costs 6 credits, and new accounts start with 100 free credits.
Why does it say my file is mono?
A mono file has the same signal in both channels, so cancelling the centre would cancel everything. It needs a stereo mix; AI stem separation works on mono files.
Is my audio uploaded?
No. The file is decoded and processed inside your browser tab and never leaves your device.

Want the vocal gone,
not just quieter?

SoundGen's AI stem separation splits any song into vocals, drums, bass and the rest, straight onto tracks in a full studio.
